Cerazette Contraceptive PillsContraceptive pills contain artificial female hormones, oestrogen and progestogen. Two different types of contraceptive pills are mini pills and combination pills. Mini pills are those which contain just one artificial female hormone, progestogen, but are similar to combination pills in terms of its effects. Combination pills on the other hand contain both the female hormones and give you a three way protection against pregnancy. Some of the most popular contraceptive pills are Yasmin, Cerazette and Microgynon.

Yasmin is a combination pill, which contains ethinylestradiol (oestrogen) and drospirenone (progestogen) as its active ingredients. It has been proven to be almost 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. It gives you a three way protection by preventing ovulation, altering your womb lining and thickening the cervical mucus, so that sperm cannot enter the womb. Microgynon is another combination pill, with ethinylestradiol (oestrogen) and levenorgestrel (progestogen) as its active ingredients.

Cerazette, on the other hand, is a mini pill, which contains desogestrel as its active ingredient. This pill has been proven to be almost 99% effective in its task. It gives protection against pregnancy by preventing ovulation, thickening the cervical mucus and altering the womb lining. You can take these contraceptive pills if you are 18 years old or above.
